About Us
The Iron Medics EMS Motorcycle Club, Inc. was founded on September 13, 2018 in Lexington, South Carolina as a US 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It was established to provide the opportunity for increased camaraderie between active and retired public safety personnel (to include military) and select citizenry, who enjoy riding motorcycles and attending motorcycle related events. The Iron Medics EMS/MC Chapter rides and events are intended to promote safe activities that will appeal to the Membership as a whole. We strive to maintain a positive professional image in all we do both for our Club and the professions we represent.
The mission of the Iron Medics EMS Motorcycle Club, Inc. is to help bring awareness to the growing epidemic of suicides potentially related to PTSD among First Responders. The Organization will support other organizations who are dedicated to providing assistance to our fellow First Responders who may be suffering from PTSD.
Membership in the Iron Medics EMS/MC is open to all active and retired public safety personnel and select citizenry who have been sponsored by an Active Member in good standing and have achieved CPR/First Aid as a minimum. Active is defined as presently employed or active volunteers.
Emergency Medical Services Personnel and Allied Health Status is defined as:
Any current or retired certified or licensed medical professional.
Public Safety personnel is defined as:
Any certified or licensed Public Safety personnel who responds in the event of an emergency or disaster in some capacity other than Emergency Medical Services (i.e. Emergency Management, Civil Defense, Fire Fighter, etc.).
If you're looking for a group of wonderful people who have the best interests of our Public Safety and Veterans in mind, who are active within their communities bringing awareness to PTSD and suicides among our public servants, then the Iron Medics EMS/MC is the family for you.
Disclaimer: While our Club seeks to reduce the stigma of PTSD and related disorders in First Responders, it should be noted that we are not psychologists or therapists. We are merely men and women who have been through terrible situations and are good listeners. If immediate help is needed, such as someone seen as a threat to themselves or others, we will provide resources for assistance as a matter of safety, with full anonymity, and at a minimum two members of each Chapter shall be Peer Support certified.
